2017 Scholarship Presentation

On the morning of June 18th, 2017, surrounded by family, Melissa Resendes received the 2017 Stripes to Bars Scholarship on the flight line of Aspen Flying Club at Centennial Airport.

In addition to receiving her STB flight scholarship, Melissa was surprised to receive an embroidered flight bag donated from Dominic Martinez of MyGoFlight and a discovery flight provided by Stripes to Bars, in combination with Aspen Flying Club.

Ecstatic, Melissa took the intro flight immediately after the ceremony with her STB’s mentor and flight instructor, Lance Ward. Accompanied by her two sons in the back seat, Melissa taxied the Cessna 172 away from the ramp with her family waving her off on her first flight and the beginning of her adventure to become a private pilot.
